First things first. We have an outstanding management team. It is well documented in previous "Directors Box" how we as a Board of Directors feel about the magnificent job they have done. The Board are 100% behind both Robbie and Kenny and see them as the team to take us upwards and forwards.
However, whenever a management job becomes available, as I believe Deveronvale HL clubs is, there will always be speculation and interest to other Clubs management. Kenny's association with the Vale is well publicised, he was a hero there as a player and would be a great choice for both their board and supporters. We see our management as a team and I state publicly in this programme that we do not want either one of them to leave and I believe the vast majority of supporters agree.
As I stated in the last programme the very small minority who wish to lambaste the coaching staff and players should think seriously about where we go if we lose such a good set of guys and what message we are sending to the very good squad of players we have. Results over the last couple of months have been good but we are suffering for terrible start to the season. If you look closely only Stranraer a couple of weeks ago have given us a doing. There is little between the top 6, our performances against East Fife are testimony to this. I think with just a reasonable start next season we will be up there with the rest but a lot will depend on keeping Robbie and Kenny. We as a Board will try our best please give the same backing from the supporters.
Today we welcome Dumbarton to Borough Briggs. It should be quite a game as they are unbeaten in their last 3 games. More evidence supporting the statement in my first paragraph how close a league it is. Knowing Jim Chapman from his days at Albion he will bring a team who are fit and want to play football, he is very much in the mould of our own manager from that aspect. So it should be a good game for the spectators. Let us hope we can continue our run of results and be ready for any slips from the teams above us, it is still all to play for.
Finally, the supporters Trust is up and running but the uptake of membership has been disappointing. I believe any trust, club or association that wants to support by any means is a good thing so get in touch with the office bearers or take a membership form online from the official web site (www.ecfcsupporterstrust.co.uk) and build up the membership.
