Another good result at Albion keeps us in the running for a play off spot making today’s game another big occasion. Arbroath have been quite consistent over the season but one or two chinks have appeared lately so it will be a very interesting game today. One thing is for certain both teams will be up for it and I for one look forward to an exciting open game.
The board, Spud and Norman, the supporters club, hospitality dinner and the youth fund raising committee of Susan Beveridge, Lorraine Watt and Maeriad Allen can sell lottery tickets, raffles, attend bottle stalls and bag packs to raise funds. However, as important as their efforts are, it only touches the surface of the money required to run the Club. It is more people through the gates that will increase the revenue and in turn provide more funds for the manager to improve his squad. The first team are playing fast attacking football, yes they have off days, as any young team do, but overall they are exciting, competitive and a pleasure to watch. So spread the news, bring a friend to the game boost the crowd and get behind the team.
I mentioned hospitality dinner, well I doubt there is a better value day out than what is provided on match day. A ticket to the stand, an excellent 3 course lunch, prepared by one of the best chefs in Elgin, half time refreshments and complimentary bar until 1730 hrs. You do not have to book it for a party, if you are Billy no mates you can attend solo, tables can be provided according to numbers and unless you are really obnoxious someone is bound to talk to you. Give it a try, book through the office or contact a board member, you can be assured of a great day out.
Another body who needs your support is the Social Club. Over the years it has been the focal point of the Club providing first class entertainment. With the changing scene in the High Street and the opening of quality night spots in the centre of town the membership has declined along with the use of the premises. The Entertainments Committee are making efforts to reverse that down turn by providing quality acts on Saturday nights, look out for the publicity of when.. Furthermore, we have a very well attended dance club who meet on Monday nights and they are organising a fund raising evening on Saturday 3 May. There is pool and snooker and the bar is very reasonably priced. Memberships are due this month so get along and join it is another source of revenue for the club and first team.
Enjoy the game today and lets hope for the 3 points to keep the pressure on.
