Elgin failed to narrow the gap on Arbroath in 4th place today, making their job of grabbing that elusive last play off spot that much harder.
The home side missed out on an rare win after being held and missing a number of late chances, with Marc McKenzie guilty of spurning several opportunities.
He shot wide from the edge of the box after 88 minutes and deep into injury time failed to find the target when clean through on goal.
City's best chance came late when Darren Shalicker's close range shot was saved by Gary O'Connor.
