Woeful City slumped to a heavy defeat against the only team who were below them in the division at the start of play. Despite a confident enough start, City in their new white and red kit fell behind to a Duell finish from Fotheringham's pass.
Campbell fired a half chance over for Elgin and then did the same with a 20 yard free kick as the visiting side finished the half on top but without threatening the Forfar keeper. Martin went off at half time and his replacement Charlesworth did his hamstring within five minutes, but that was after Stuart had slotted a second for the home team from Tulloch's left wing cross.
Ross was next off with a head knock, and a third goal came when the exposed Beith lofted the ball to the far post for Stuart to slide in and claim his second on the goal line. Lunan finished off a Fotheringham pass as City's heads went down, and though they did go in search of a consolation, only Dickson's 25 yarder which Wood tipped over posed any sort of a threat.
