Forfar Athletic 0-1 Elgin City
Mackay 60
Elgin picked up their first 3 points of the season with a victory away at Forfar. Despite playing against 10 men from the 29th minute, City took until the 60th minute to take the lead with Steven Mackay grabbing his second of the season. The only downside was Ross O'Donoghue's red card in the dying minutes for dissent.
Elgin City pushed early pacesetters Forfar Athletic to their second successive 1-0 defeat where both teams ended up playing with only 10 men.
Forfar's Stuart Ferguson was shown a straight red card after only 29 minutes for a late tackle on Craig Campbell, though some felt this was harsh and that a yellow would have sufficed.
City made the breakthrough after 60 minutes when Steve MacKay fired home a first-time volley and had further chances to seal the 3 points.
Forfar's Kevin McLeish was denied an equaliser by debutant keeper Andy McNulty before Ross O'Donoghue was also sent off at the death for dissent.
