Club captain Hugh Dickson has played his last game for Elgin City. He's decided to quit and move back to his native Northern Ireland. He told the Northern Scot: "It's just personal reasons, nothing to do with football really," he said. "I kind of felt I've been here too long and I wasn't enjoying life in Scotland the same."
He cited missing his family back in County Down as one of the factors in the big decision. "I've been unhappy for a while and it's something I'd been thinking about for a year now. "The time was right to go – but it's a big wrench leaving the club I've been proud to captain." With the departure of Shug, Robbie Williamson has appointed David Hind as team captain.
Meanwhile, Elgin City's Head of Youth Development, Charlie Charlesworth has been appointed as the new manager of Highland League Lossiemouth. We wish him well in his new venture.
