Forfar Athletic 0-1 Elgin City

                           Mackay 60

Elgin picked up their first 3 points of the season with a victory away at Forfar. Despite playing against 10 men from the 29th minute, City took until the 60th minute to take the lead with Steven Mackay grabbing his second of the season. The only downside was Ross O'Donoghue's red card in the dying minutes for dissent.

Scottish 3rd Division

Elgin City 1   Dumbarton 1

Mackay 24    Logan 75

To use a tired old cliche, it was a game of 2 halves today as Elgin picked up their first point of the season against Dumbarton. With their recent run of bad results fresh in fans minds, City's first home league game of the 2008/2009 season saw them come against a side they'd had some good results against in recent years, albeit one which is undergoing its own transition. With a large and always vocal away support at the game, it was always going to be a challenge.

With David McConnachie in place as the new head of youth development and new coaches involved with all age levels I am sure we are in for another great season of youth team football.
