ANTI RACISM POLICY

Elgin City FC abhors any form of racism either on or off the pitch. The Club is committed to promoting and maintaining an environment free from the issues of racial harassment and abuse.

Everyone connected with the Club is required to prevent racism and abuse.

Elgin City FC defines racism as any incident that is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person.

This includes verbal, physical, written and visible abuse that is based on a person’s race, ethnic background, colour, nationality, language or cultural background.

Proven racial abuse will be reported to the police.

No literature of a racist nature shall be permitted to be handed out either inside or outside the ground.

The Club is now actively promoting prejudice free relationships with the members of the many cultures now settling in Moray. All youth coaches and community coaches are encouraging active involvement in the Club from these communities.

Elgin City FC actively supports the annual Fortnight of Action that is aimed at tackling racism and exclusion through Football by contributing to all the activities organised by “Show Racism the Red Card”.

Supporters will, on a regular basis, be advised that any racist behaviour is unacceptable.

Any supporter convicted of such an offence, either home or visiting, will face a life ban from the stadium.
