Elgin City recorded their biggest victory of the season as they routed bottom club Montrose 4-0 at Links Park.
A brace from substitute Craig Gunn, and goals from Shane Sutherland and Gavin Morrison saw ninth-placed Elgin stretch their advantage over their opposition at the foot of the table to 12 points.
The breakthrough came right on half time, as Sutherland swept a low left-footed strike past goalkeeper Andrew McNeil from six yards out.
The lead was doubled just after the break, when Morrison latched onto a John Inglis cross in the penalty area to finish into the corner of the net.
Montrose pressed as they tried to rescue something from the game, but two Gunn goals in stoppage time sealed the win for the visitors; his first an accurate shot from just inside the opposition penalty, while his second came from closer range just 62 seconds later.
