A late Shane Sutherland strike five minutes from time dented the home side's play-off hopes and secured Elgin City in ninth place with bottom club Montrose unable to catch them now.

The loss leaves the Spiders one point ahead of fifth-placed Albion Rovers, having played a game more. Elgin's coach was today delayed by roadworks, and the kick-off was delayed by 10 minutes.  Despite being the more dominant side, Queen's Park could not score and were left to rue their missed chances.

The decisive moment came in the 85th minute as Craig Gunn turned his man and his shot was blocked by McGeown, but Shane Sutherland was there to turn the rebound into the net.
