BREAK out the champers folks....City's 'Black & White' matchday programme has been named the Irn-Bru Third Division's No 1!
Bathgate-based gpfootball.com, an online programme retailer, has given the award to the Black and Whites' publication for season 2011-12.
It may not be the equivalent of picking up an Oscar, but it represents praiseworthy recognition of the hard and dedicated work put in by everyone associated with the matchday offering.
Special mention should go to programme editor Mike Whelan, who was whisked off the terracings at the start of the season without as much as the inducement of a free pie to persuade him to take over the role.
The Kenter, a lifelong Charlton Athletic fan and a former contributor to the London club's gameday programme, adopted City as his second team shortly after moving north for a better life.
The award will also help to ease the pain of a trapped nerve in his back, which has all but laid him low for the past few weeks and a few more in the offing.
Probably not the best time to tell him to take a bow! So, I'll do it for him and thank gpfootball.com for the recognition of our efforts.
