Tough pre-season for City

THREE SPL clubs and a newly promoted First Division side - all at Borough Briggs - are among five confirmed pre-season friendlies for City.

Aberdeen, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Ross County and Cowdenbeath will provide the opposition for the Black and Whites in the run-up to the new season, with Ross Jack's side also lined up for a trip to Lossiemouth for Martin McMullan's testimonial.

Kicking off the list of attractive warm-up fixtures are former Scotland international midfielder Colin Cameron's Second Division champions Cowdenbeath, who visit on Friday, July 6 (7.45pm).

Terry Butcher's Caley Jags are next up on Saturday, July 14, with the clash having a 3pm kick-off.

The following day – Sunday, July 15 (3.00pm) – City head for Grant Park to face Lossie in midfielder McMullan's testimonial.

The big home games continue on Tuesday, July 17 (7.30pm) when ex-Scotland manager Craig Brown takes the Dons to Borough Briggs and Derek Adams will parade his runaway First Division champions County on Saturday, July 21 (3.00pm) to round off what should be a testing build-up to the 2012-13 season for City.
