A Daniel Moore penalty was enough to give Elgin City a famous victory over the Dandy Dons at Borough Briggs. Although a pre-season friendly, this will no doubt boost the confidence in the City squad for the forthcoming season.
Nearly 1500 fans turned up to see Ross Jack's men humble the SPL side. The penalty came about after Russell Anderson pulled back Stuart Leslie and Moore put away the resulting spot-kick. Aberdeen spent the rest of the match pressing City for an equaliser but it wasn't to be their night.
Neil Duffy again performed well in goal, Ceiran McLean took his chance at a starting spot to give an impressive performance in midfield and Daniel Moore relished running at the Dons defence. Next up is Ross County at Borough Briggs on Saturday, KO 3pm.
